Retro Modern Zig Zag Shelf

It is beyond a doubt that I needed this [amazon text=zig zag shelf&asin=B00RI6CEBM]. I finally added my own space into our home office but I needed to do it on a budget. I found a desk online that I re-finished and other used and inexpensive items to make the space functional. After getting everything together I realized I needed a shelf to hold miscellaneous things that didn’t fit on my desk and of course I couldn’t get something simple.

I looked for quite a while before coming across this [amazon text=shelf&asin=B00RI6CEBM]. I thought for sure when it arrived that it is was going to be awful because it was so affordable. I was also nervous because reviews on it were mixed, some people loved it, some not so much, some said it was hard to put together, etc. Here is what I have to say:

I had no issues putting this together. If you’ve ever spent time putting do-it-yourself furniture together you know that sometimes it goes smoothly and sometimes you have no idea what you are doing. These came with stickers on them labeled “A”, “B” & “C” and an illustration for directions that were pretty easy to follow. I had the whole thing together in about 15 minutes.

I would not use this [amazon text=shelf&asin=B00RI6CEBM] to hold anything too heavy. There are only 3 screws that hold it in place and although it does come with wall anchors I still wouldn’t overload it. The material that covers it feels almost like a laminate which I’m hoping will make it easy to clean.

Overall, I love the look of this, the size was perfect and it does the job I need it to: hold my nonsense. Just be aware that if your walls are not completely square (like most walls) that there will be gaps on either side but honestly that doesn’t bother me at all.
