Lineway LED Light Strip That Works With Alexa

This LED light strip is one of the first products I’ve had the opportunity to review that works with our Alexa app/ [amazon text=Echo Dot&asin=B01DFKC2SO] and we have admittedly been having a lot of fun with them.

When we first received these [amazon text=lights&asin=B073TZ2K1M] we weren’t quite sure what we wanted to do with them. We thought about installing them around our TV because we had done that with a standard set of LED lights on another TV and loved the look. Then inspiration hit us and we decided to install them under our new diner booth and we couldn’t be happier with our decision.

These are pretty simple to set up, you will need to install an app called smart life (see video for more information) and once this is installed you can name the light set, we named them “diner lights”, just make sure you name them something that Alexa can easily understand. Once you have them set up in that app you need to add them to your Alexa app and then you are ready to go.

You can have Alexa dim the lights and change color but we can not figure out how to make them fade or change color on their own with Alexa (this can be done easily with the app).  If you have figured out how to do this please leave a comment and let us know. This is really the only flaw that we have discovered with the lights.

One day I noticed that every so often the lights were changing on their own from white to blue and back and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. After a little research, I realized it was to let us know they wifi had been interrupted. If this happens to you all you have to do is unplug them and plug them back in and hopefully that will take care of the issue.

We are thrilled with the look these have created and how easily they work with Alexa, they certainly do impress our guests.

There is a lot of information in the video as to the length of each strip and what all is included so feel free to watch that if you are curious about those specs. One thing to note is that if you are on amazon and thinking of purchasing the [amazon text=expansion kit&asin=B073TZCHKN] and not the [amazon text=standard kit&asin=B073TZ2K1M] (because it is less expensive) know that the [amazon text=expansion kit&asin=B073TZCHKN] does not include the transformer or the connector so it is pretty much useless without the standard kit.

Hopefully we covered all the bases but if you still have questions leave a comment and we will try to figure it out.
