tataME Memory Foam Mattress and Cover
We have been looking for a new mattress to put in our camper which is not an easy thing because the bed that is in our camper is not a standard size queen, it is shorter and so those mattresses are outrageous, then this [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] came along and we realized it would work.
Let me preface my review by saying that I have severe scoliosis and occasional sciatica and my husband has sciatica stemming from a motorcycle accident so a good mattress is a necessity for us if we want to be able walk or sit comfortably the next day. Seriously, my husband got a herniated disc just from sleeping on my parent’s guest bed.
We hung out on this [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] on and off all day the day we tested it (and most of the next day as well) and neither of us had any issues with our backs the next day! Since I needed to review it and it was going in our camper we decided to just put it in the living room and test it out. This turned out to be some serious family bonding time and multiple movies watched in a row (while I slept). At one point we had all of our family of 4, 2 dogs and a cat on the [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] and we were all comfortable.
I was worried about this [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] being only 5″ thick. Typically with a thinner mattress when I lie on my side my hips will dig into the floor or worse yet get out of alignment resulting in me not being able to walk the next day. I am happy to say there were no issues at all with this [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ].
The genius thing about this is that one side of the [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] is firm and one side is soft. My husband and I have had a memory foam mattress for 10 years now and I would say that ours is medium, neither soft or firm and this made it hard to decide which side we liked better. I think we finally decided on soft for both of us but since it is not a huge deal to flip this [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] if we change our minds, no big deal.

If you are familiar with mattress covers you know that they are not all created equal. Sometimes it is a full on workout to get them on or you get them on and they’re loose or you can hear them when you sleep on them, there are tons of things that can go wrong with mattress covers.
I had none of those issues with this [amazon text=cover&asin=B01CIVVGH4]. It actually went on so easily that when I was doing my video review for the mattress I had to show us putting the [amazon text=cover&asin=B01CIVVGH4] on because I couldn’t believe how easily it was going on.
This unzips 3/4 of the way around. All we did was take the bottom and set the mattress on top of it and then tuck the two ends into the “pockets” on the one end that doesn’t unzip and then zip it up. It fits so well that you will actually hear me in the video asking if the company sent the wrong size because it looked like it wasn’t going to work.
The outside of this [amazon text=cover&asin=B01CIVVGH4] has the same hand as bedsheets. You actually can not tell it is a cover when you have it on, it just looks like a sheet. Although the inside is obviously waterproof it doesn’t feel or sound like you are sleeping on plastic while it is on. The green pinstripe around the edge is a nice touch as well.
If you are on the fence about whether or not you need a [amazon text=cover&asin=B01CIVVGH4] let me say this. When we first got our existing mattress it came with covers that were like fitted sheets and never stayed on. It was then that I discovered stains near my feet on the mattress, for the life of me I couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Then one day I realized that it was the same place that our dog would sleep (under the blankets) and it turns out he would drool in sleep and it left stains all over my mattress, so gross. Also, if you are a parent think of any time your kid has peed or been sick in your bed, imagine how much easier that would be to clean if all you had to do is take off a [amazon text=cover&asin=B01CIVVGH4] and throw it in the washer. That’s just my two cents .
If you’re on the fence, get it. They don’t get much better than this [amazon text=cover&asin=B01CIVVGH4]. Just remember it will only work with this mattress.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this we wanted this for our camper but it is too long. Due to the fact that this isn’t very thick we were actually able to bend the end a little at the top where our pillows go to elevate us while sleeping, this is actually the way we both prefer to sleep. There is no way that could be done with any other mattress.
So far I’m incredibly impressed with this [amazon text=mattress&asin=B01CIVVHEQ] and look even more forward to camping season because of it. We are officially spoiled, memory foam in the camper. 🙂
