I have reviewed my fair share of quadcopters and they are all different and unique in their own way but this UFO one takes the cake as far as design, flyability and all over coolness.
I saw this quadcopter and its UFO shape and wanted to test it before I even knew all the other things that it does. When this arrived we were unsure how well it would fly, there are 6 blades all in a circle and it doesn’t seem like to will be as easy to control as your standard quadcopter. We were wrong, this is a very stable quadcopter and especially great for indoor flying. Added bonus, if it is a hot day all those blades will cool you and everyone else in the room off quickly because this thing puts out some air. 🙂
Once my husband downloaded the app that goes with this to his Iphone, it opened up a whole other world of quadcopter flying to us. There is an option of flying the quad from your phone instead of the controller but that takes get some getting use to and is not for everyone. This is a wifi quadcopter/app so when you turn it on it omits its own wifi signal, when you connect it to your phone and open the app you can see everything the camera sees in real time, this is pretty amazing. You can film and take photos while flying and when taken outside they are good quality, I tried to add them to my review but I was having problems opening them on my MAC but you can see them a little when we play them on the phone in the review. This is headless which means there is no front or back which is nice especially for beginners.
One thing to be aware of is when you are flying this outside because of its shape it will catch the wind pretty easily and be harder if not completely unable to control, I mean it’s basically shaped like a frisbee. Otherwise this is by far the coolest quadcopter we’ve had the opportunity to test and we’ve only scratched the surface of what it can do. We have virtual reality glasses coming so we can try to fly it in that mode and that is going to be insane.
This is a great quadcopter for the price, very unique, a conversation piece and it looks like a space ship, how cool is that?!
