Cheerwing Peregrine U28W Wifi Quadcopter
This Cheerwing Quadcopter is by no means my first quadcopter review. I have tested out a lot of quadcopters with my husband’s help and this one has a lot of good qualities but I have tested one with other options that I like better as well. So, like most quadcopters in this price range you have to take the good with the bad.
First, the body of this is very well made, it is a solid [amazon text=drone&asin=B01FVR6HBM]. Because the camera is integrated into the body you don’t have to worry about it flapping around or falling off (I’ve tried some that this was a problem with) and it is a steadier video. That being said also because it is integrated you can not adjust the camera by hand. I’ve reviewed another one where you could tilt the camera before you started flying and I thought that was a nice feature. Otherwise this is indeed a solid bodied [amazon text=quadcopter&asin=B01FVR6HBM].
There are two batteries included that are charged when they arrive. These are not the standard shape quadcopter batteries I’m use to so they will not be compatible with my other quads. Like I always say it is a good idea to go ahead and purchase extra batteries, the fly vs charging time ratios are no fun. There is typically 15 minutes of fly time (depending on whether you are using the camera or not) vs hours of charging time. The batteries do charge with a USB outside of the quad, I’ve had quadcopters where the charger connects to the whole quadcopter and some where the batteries charge separately from the unit, I prefer the latter.
The blades on this are quite thin as you will see in my video review. Because of this just hitting them quickly makes them become marred. I worry that in the long run, at least if you’re a beginner learning to fly this, that you will need a lot of extra blades and only 1 extra set is included.
My husband didn’t have any issues flying this but did notice the controls were slightly different than he was use to. You can download an app and connect the camera via wifi (not bluetooth; this emits its own wifi signal). The nice thing about this is that you can see what the camera sees so if you are using this to film something in particular it eliminates the guess work out of whether or not you filmed what you wanted to. Be warned that trying to fly via the phone is not as easy as you would think and it would be smart to start by flying with the controler until you get the hang of things. There is also a guard included to help block the sun so you can see the phone better when it is bright out, this is a helpful add on.
As you can see in my video review it is pretty easy to fly [amazon text=quadcopter&asin=B01FVR6HBM], being able to use the phone is very handy, it is quite quiet compared to a lot of quadcopters and it’s fun. I would just advise if you are flying it inside to use the blade guards and be careful with those blades when flying it without them.

Did the battery life improve on charging? Lots of reports that 2 min is all you get.
It seemed to be about the same after charging.
15 minutes fly time. Is that per battety or combined fly time of both batteries?

does anyone know how long the battery needs to be charged?
I don’t know the exact time off hand but it does take a long time (maybe an hour or so is my guess since they are all different) and you can typically only fly for 15 minutes off that. That is why it is always a good idea to have an extra set available.
